It’s a sad side effect of being viewed as a fetish, and someone who is “disposable.” We are infinitely sought after for the stereotype of being sexually deviant, but when the reality proves that we seek what cisgender women want — a loving relationship — there is nary a romantic partner to be found. Intimacy doesn’t require sex, but it can facilitate it. It should not be so hard for men to grasp this. But I suppose it reinforces a stereotype against them, the one about them being lead around by their dicks.
